Archibald Williams
KEOSAUQUA - Archibald S. (Deacon) Williams, 78, died Oct. 23 at the home of his son, Charles Williams, in Ottumwa.
Williams had been in ill health for several years, and had lived at the home of his son for the past three years.
A native of the Keosauqua vicinity, Williams was born Nov. 27, 1876, the son of Lewis and Mary Williams. On May 1, 1901, he was married to Amelia Randall, who died Feb. 27, 1948.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters: Charles and Eugene Williams and Mrs. Orville Teeter, all of Ottumwa; Joseph Williams, Livermore, Calif., Mrs. Roland Sellars, Douds, and Mrs. Hollis Jameson, of Burlington.
Also surviving are two brothers: Owen Williams, Ottumwa, and Henry Williams, Farmington and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Hazel, died previously, as did several brothers and sisters.
Last rites will be held at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Officating will be Dr. H.C. Irvine, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Birmingham.
Burial will be in Forbes cemetery.
