Mrs. Frances Marriott Dies at Age of 81

Mrs. Frances Marriott, an old and highly respected resident of this city, died at her home on West Main street, Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the age of 81 years. She had not been in good health for some time but her condition was not considered serious, and her death was a great shock to the family, and the community. Funeral services were held at the residence, Dec. 23, conducted by the Rev. C.E. Nichols. Interment was in the Princeton cemetery.

Frances Steele was born Oct. 1, 1846, and passed away Dec. 21, 1927, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 21 days. She was married to Hiram P. Marriott May 5, 1864. To this union eight children were born. One died in infancy. Those surviving her are S.H. Marriott of Worthena, Kans., Mrs. Della Johnson of LaHarpe, Kans., Mrs. Lizzie Tuttle and Alfred Marriott of Trenton, Mrs. Lottie Branam, Mrs. Blanche Tuttle and Arthur Marriott of Princeton. She is also survived by 28 grand children, 34 great grand children, and 2 great great grand children.

Mrs. Marriott was a member of the Methodist church for many years and lived a good Chrisitan life. She was well known and numbered her friends by her acquaintances. All mourn her death and extend sympathy.
