....The remains of James B. Fulton were brought to Bentonsport last Tuesday for burial, followed by many sorrowing friends and relatives from Valley Junction. The funeral was held at the Pres. church conductged by Rev. Kite also of the same place. Rev. Kite a short time ago was called here to conduct the funeral of Mr. Fultons mother. Mr. Fulton was born in Bentonsport, May 5, 1866. He was united in marriage with Miss Jennie Benedict May 21, 1887, at Bentonsport. To this union 5 children were born, Clifford, Edna, Fannie, James and Harry all of whom with the wife and mother are left to mourn the loss of a kind husband and an affectionate father, also an aged father and Will, Noah, Hal, Katherine ane(sp) Minnie gave up a loving son and brother.
He was employed on the C.R.I. and P. railroad, for 17 years acting as fireman, when on Dec. 12, 1895 he was promoted to engineer. A position he held untiel Dec. 26 when he made his last run. The railroad co. in many ways showed the high esteem in which he was held, a man with a generous heart, overflowing with love, and his words of comfort and cheer could straighton out the tangled threads of live. He quietly passed away early Saturday morning and the large concourse of people at the home on Monday afternoon, representing all departments of railroad work.
The many beautiful floral tributes snow how James was respectek in Valley Junction. He passed away at the age of 45 years, 9 mo. and 7 days. Those with the relatives composing the funeral party were: Engineers, Bennett, Woodward, Dickenson, McDonaugh and Harry Beatly and Mrs. Jane Humphrey all of Valley Junction.
