DEATH OF MRS. DeHART.
Margaret A. Stephens was born March 2, 1859, near Keosauqua, Iowa, in and about which vicinity, she spent the most of her life. After a lingering illness she passed peacefully away at her home in Keosauqua, in the early morning of Saturday, December 28, 1912. On May 12, 1878, she was married to T.E. DeHart. To them six childred were born: Sheman B., Mabel, Mary M, Nellie C., and Thomas Edison, all of whom were present with the husband and father when the mother was called from their midst to the larger life where she had been preceded by her little son Willie in his innocent infancy. Besides her husband and five children, she leaves an aged father, two brothers and four sisters, as well as more distant relatives and a host of friends, to mourn the departure from this earth of a truly noble, self-sacrificing woman. Having given her heart to Christ in the same year of her marriage, as wife, mother, neighbor and friend, she has ever since confessed with her life the Savior she then confessed her lips, and though she lived two months and four days less than fifty-four years, in that comparatively short life, in her quiet, earnest, self-forgetful way, she came nearer than most mortals to fulfilling the Scriptural idea that say: (remainder missing)
