MRS. D.D. KINSBURY

Alice C. Collard, youngest danghter(sp) of James and Emeline Collard, was born near Howells, N.Y. on Nov. 19, 1858, and departed this life at her home in Keosauqua on Dec. 15, 1927, at the age of 69 years.

She grew to womanhood in her native state and moved to Keosauqua when 18 years of age. Here, on Nov. 20, 1878, she was married to D.D. Kingsbury, and they went to housekeeping on the Kingsbury homestead, which place was their home till about eight years ago when they moved to Keosauqua.

To them were born four children, one daughter and three sons, all of whom are living to sorrow a mother's going.

Mrs. Kingsbury was converted when a girl and when she made her home in Center Chapel neighborhood she, with her husband united with that church. Here she enjoyed the fellowship and communion of her brethren, sisters in Christ and labored zealously for the building up of God's kingdom. After coming to Keosauqua her health has not permitted her to be so active in the church.

Last February she was called upon to part from her companion by his death and since then she has just been waiting that she might go to him. The children who mourn the loss of their mother are Mrs. Fred Wolford of Des Moines, Cyrus H., of near Keosauqua; J.C. of Healdsburg, Calif., and Earl, on the old home place. She also leaves a brother, Himan Collard of Warnick, N.Y.; also five grand children.

Funeral services at Center Chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. M.D: Cox, pastor at Keosauqua.
