Death of Mark Hilllis(sp)

In 1854 Mark Hillis, son of the late D.P. Hillis and wife, was born on what is known as the Jonathan Thatcher farm actoss the river from Keosauqua. He resided in this county until he reached manhood's years. He died Sept. 29, 1916, at Sapula, Oklahoma. He was a brother of Mrs. Ira McCrary of Ottumwa, and E.E. Hillis of Eldon. His wife was Miss Addie Redd, well known in this county, where she was born and taught school for a number of years. She survives along with three children. His sister and brother above named left Friday evening for his home to attend the funeral.
