William H. Stemple
William H. Stemple was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, February 11, 1851, and died at his home at Bonaparte, Iowa, March 3, 1918. When about 12 years old he came to Iowa with his parents. November 26, 1874, he was married to Miss Elsie J. Hart. Most of his life was spent in Bentonsport and Bonaparte and for about twenty-five years he worked in woolen mills. He died from from the effects of an accident just when he was on the way to recovery. He leaves a wife, a son Clyde, a daughter Mrs. Nellie Brown, both of the children living in Ft. Madison, and three grand children. Also a brother, of Cantril, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Wilson, of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Mrs. Goldie Stevens, of Kirksville, Mo. Funeral services were held from the late residence, conducted by Rev. Seeds, with burial in the Bentonsport cemetery.
