Death Hon. B. R. Vale.
Satuday, April 3, 1915, about 5 o'clock in the afternoon, Hon. B.R. Vale died at his home in Bonaparte, aged 66 years, 9 months and 29 days. He was born in Jefferson county, Ohio and came to Iowa with his parents in 1850, settling in Harrisburg township which was his home the remainder of his life, until a few months ago, when, because of failing health, he removed to Bonaparte. Mr. Vale was a prominent and highly respected citizen and his death is a sad loss not only to his immediate locality but to the entire county. In 1887 he was elected to the Iowa state senate and served with honor in that body for four years. He was a large land owner and was president of the Bonaparte bank. He is survived by his wife, four children and one sister. The funeral services was held at Harrisburg at 2 o'clock Monday April 5, services being in charge of his old friend, Rev. D.D. Proper of Omaha, a former resident of this county. Burial was in the Vale cemetery, near the farm home, where are interred his parents.
