For the past four years she has been afflicted with internal disease and in the hope of a cure, she has been under treatment at Rochester, Minn., and in Iowa City, Arriving at her father's home she soon became so weakened that to return home was impractible.
Here she received the best of nursing and skillful treatment, mitigating her suffering, but her malady was of an incurable nature. Amidst all her suffering she endured in christian fortitude and remarkable patience, courage and submission to whatever would be her lot.
November 14, 1917, she was released from mortality. She was a true and loyal wife, a loving and kind mother, a faithful friend. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, son, daughter and grand daughter, Viola Dupe, also father, three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Retta Cartnal of Anson, Mo., Mrs. Amanda Ruark of Farmington, Mrs. Anna Neally of Farmington, Mr. Jesse Mathias of Brook, Mo. and Mr. Ernest Mathias of Farmington, Iowa.
