Saturday, Nov. 9, 1912, David (T.) Davis died at the home of his (da)ughter, Mrs. M.B. Lackey, in Bonaparte, Iowa, aged 75 years, 8 months and 11 days. He was born in Vernon, Van Buren Co., Feb 28, 1837, and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he was born. On March 14, 1861, he was united in marriage to Adeline Christian, who died 9 years ago.

To this union three children were born. There are also five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all living except one daughter and one grandchild.

He was a good citizen and held in high esteem by all his acquaintances. The funeral was held at the home of his daughter Mrs. Lackey, Monday, November 11, 1912, Eld. C.V. Allison of Keosauqua Christian church, in charge of the services. Burial was in the Vernon cemetery.
