Last week we mentioned the report of the death of Oliphant B. Brown at Washington City, D.C, which has since been confirmed. The deceased was for many years a resident of Bentonsport, a brother of the late N.G. Brown of that place and an uncle of Mrs. A. McDonald and Mrs. Geo. A. Booth of Bonaparte.

From the Washington City Star we learn that his death occurred Nov. 29, following a sickness of several months. The following we take from the above named paper:

"Coming to Washington from Iowa about 40 years ago, Mr. Brown shortly thereafter became connected with the War Department. About 25 years ago he became active in the work of the Central Union Mission and since then had been one of its guiding spirits. Shortly after taking up this work he was elected chairman of the board of directors and retained that position uninterruptedly. He was 73 years of age. Mrs. Brown, together with a son and daughter, Eugene C. and Miss Nellie Brown survive . . .(remainder is missing)
