Lizzie McGill was born in Louisa county Iowa, March 12, 1866, being one of seven children of James and Margaret McGill, and died at her home near Douds, Iowa, November 9, 1912. While she was still a child her parents moved to Van Buren county, settling a few miles northeast of Douds. She was converted in young womanhood and continued in the Christian faith during all her subsequent life. She was married to Howard Baird Sept. 25, 1892, at Great Falls, Montana. Besides her husband there survive two daughters, Frances A. and Mary M. and numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors who mourn her departure. Funeal services, conducted by Rev. Elmer C. Sandmeyer, were held at the home Monday afternoon, November 11, with interment in Mt. Moriah cemetery.
