The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, at Bentonsport, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.S. McElhiney, of Fairfield, Friday afternoon, August 31st. For over twenty years the deceased had been a consistent member of the Adventist church, and died resting trustfully in that faith. The large congregation of friends and neighbors who were present at the funeral, proved the love and respect with which Mother Corns was regarded by all who knew her. After the services the remains were laid the rest in the cemetery by her husband. The children who had ministered to her in her last illness, and who were present, were Martin, Charles, Alonzo and Frank Corns, of Bentonsport, and Rufus Corns, of Farmington, Mrs. Addie Musser of Bentonsport and Miss Edith Baker, of Ottumwa.
