June 1977R. Brobston Dies At 60
LIBERTYVILLE - Richard M. Brobston, 60, resident of the Libertyville community, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. John Wilken officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
Members of the family will be at the funeral home to receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Richard M. Brobston was born June 1, 1917, in Colorado, the son of Iliff and Grace Tweedy Brobston.
The family moved to the Libertyville-Birmingham community when he ws three years old and moved to their present home in 1945. He was educated in the Birmingham schools.
He was married to Evelyn Overhalser June 25, 1936. He was a former employee at the Dexter Co. in Fairfield and farmed in the Libertyville area.
Brobston served in the Navy during World War II, he was a member of the Batavia VFW, and the Fairfield Eagles Lodge.
In addition to his widow he is survived by four sons, James, Geneseo, Ill.; Donald, Libetyville; Thomas, Andover, Ill.; and Robert, Clinton; and 11 grandchildren.
He is also survived by six sisters, Mrs. Lola Reynolds, Burlington; Mrs. Mildred Heston, Washington State; Mrs. Mavis Listerbarger, Texas; Mrs. Susan Chezum, Fairfield; Mrs. Betty Winters, Burlington; and Mrs. Dorothy Winfrey, Fairfield; and a brother, William Brobston, Mount Pleasant.
