Howard Stull, aged 8 years, 7 months and 27 days, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben S. Stull of Keosauqua, died Sunday, Jany. 21, 1906, of diptheria, being sick only a few days. He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Stull, and so brief was his sickness that only a few of the people of the town knew of it previous to his death. Indeed this serious condition was not realized by his parents or immediate friends until last Friday. He had been troubled with a cold and sore throat for several days and had been out of school on account of it during all of the preceding week.
It was not until the day previous to his death that diphtheria symptoms were sufficiently advanced to be recognized, and its fatal work soom followed its development. he was an intelligent boy, of cheerful and kind disposition and greatly loved by his school mates and all others who knew him. Two brothers, both younger, survive.
The parents have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their severe affliction. The funeral was private, because of the nature of the disease and because of the quarantine prevailing. There were brief services by Rev. Carson. The interment was at 10:30 a.m. Monday of this week, in the Purdom cemetery.
