MRS. ALLEN STEVENS.

Frances E. Walker was born in Hamilton, Ohio, Aug. 6th, 1832, and grew to manhood there. She came to Iowa in 1850 and settled on a farm in Washington township, Van Buren county.

She was married to Allen W. Stevens Oct. 20, 1858, to which union were born six children, two of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are W.A. and Cora M. of Farmington, E.E. of Woodstock, Illinois, and J.E. of Bentonsport, Io. She moved with her family to Bentonsport in September, 1888, where her husband died in February 15, 1896. The family remained in Bentonsport until November, 1902, when they came to Farmington and have since made their home.

The deceased was converted about the year 1851 at a camp meeting in Harrisburg and united with the church at that time and has since been a faithful and constant member. She transferred her membership from the Bentonsport M.E. church to the Farmington M.E. church, where she in her communion and association with the church made many friends who join in heartfelt sympathy for the bereaved family.

Mrs. Stevens was taken suddenly ill with paralysis about 5 o'clock Friday evening, April 26, 1907, and died a little after 8 o'clock the same evening. She was in her seventy-fifth year.

Her funeral was held from the M.E. church, Monday, April 29, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by her pastor Rev. J.H. Taylor. The remains were interred in the Bentonsport cemetery.
