Mrs. Emma C. Grubbs.

Died, at her home in Douds, Iowa, at 7 o’clock Tuesday morning July 17, 1900, Mrs. Emma C. Lagle Grubbs. She was born in Bentonsport, Iowa, April 13, 1860, and at death was 40 years, 3 months and 4 days old. She grew to womanhood in Vernon and was married to True Grubbs in 1881. To this union were born four children, two daughters and two sons, all of whom are living. She united with the M.E. church in Vernon, when quite young, and was ever a faithful believer in Christ. She was a great sufferer for the past eight months but bore it all without a murmur. She leaves to mourn her death, a husband, four children, an aged mother, two sisters and one brother with a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Douds M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Shane, after which the body was laid to rest in the Leando cemetery.
