Filson Rites On Monday

BIRMINGHAM - Earl M. Filson, 88, well known Van Buren County farmer, died Friday morning at the Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

The funeral will be Monday, June 20 at 2 p.m., at the Birmingham Methodist Church with the Rev. David R. Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Sunday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham.

The son of William L. and Mary E. Bonnett Filson, he was born Dec. 26, 1888 near Fairfield.

He was married June 28, 1916 to Hazel Belle Carl. She preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 1974.

He is survived by three sons, Floyd, Van and Raymond Filson all of Birmingham; and three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Taylor, Mrs. Esther Cunningham and Mrs. Ruth Carter all of Douds, 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Faye Bagby, Birmingham. One daughter is deceased.

Filson was a charter member of the Bonnett Community Club, organized in 1927.
