**Handwritten above heading: V.B. Reg. 29 July 1993Carol A. Lawson, 56, of Arizona City, Arizona died Tuesday, July 20, 1993 at her home. She was born Nov. 20, 1936 in Van Buren County to Merle and Roberta Johnson Nelson. She married Roxie L. Lawson February 20, 1954 in Kahoka, Mo. She grew up near Stockport and graduated from Stockport High School. She had been administrative assistant to the City Manager of Casa Grande, Arizona and was recording secretarty for the Industrial Development Authority of Casa Grande. She was active in the Certified Professional Secretaries Society of Arizona, having served as President, Secretary, and membership Chairman.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, Casa Grande, and taught children's Bible classes.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Terry Duke, Phoenix, Arizona and Linda Gerou, Chicago, Ill., a grandson, Cory Gerou, Chicago, her mother and step-father, Roberta and Harry Mahon of Fairfield, Desda Smith, Arizona City, three brothers, Robert Nelson, Orlando, Fla., Larry Nelson, Riverside, Calif. and Richard Nelson, Wilson, Arizona and a half-brother, Alan Mahon, Theodoshia, Mo. Her father preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be Saturday, July 31, 1993 at 1:30 p.m. in Dibble Cemetery south of Stockport, Rev. Donald Kinyon officiating. Visitation with the family present will be 7-9 Friday, July 30 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. Memorials to American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
