Hallie Cresap Burr.

Hallie, beloved daughter of R. T. and M. W. Cresap, was born in Bonaparte, Iowa, August 2, 1878. She was married to John Burr, Jr., August 21, 1901, in Fernando, California, and departed this life January 29, 1903. She leaves father, mother, three sisters, four brothers, a loving husband, an infant daughter and many friends to mourn.

She united with the Presbyterian church several years ago while in California and remained faithful to the last. She had a kind and loving disposition and as beloved by all who knew her. Before she passed away she sent all out of the room, then she earnestly prayed for the men and boys of that place to live honest and be "banner bearers" for her sake: A plea not easily forgotten by those who heard it.

The funeral was preached by Rev. Minroe at the Presbyterian church Saturday at 2 P. M., January 31, and laid to rest in Fernando cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Peck and Chase, Los Angeles.

That fell destroyer, consumption took her from us. We remember her as a noble woman, one worthy of being called a christian. But she has gone to a home not built with hands, where there will be no more sorrow, sickness and death.

Dearest sister, thou hast left us.
Here our loss we deeply feel;
But 'tis God that hath bereft us,
He will all our sorrows heal.
