Dale Workman rites Saturday

STOCKPORT - R. Dale Workman, 80, Stockport, died at 2:0 p.m. Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield with the Rev. William Sullivan and the Rev. Karl Holtkamp officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery at Stockport. Prayers for a Christian Wake will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with family visitation to follow. Memorials have been established to the Stockport Heritage Society and Stockport First Responders.

Workman was born Dec. 20, 1906 in Stockport, the son of Richard Aaron and Emma Brewer Workman. He married Melva Jane Burns July 2, 1949, in Quincy, Ill. A farmer and an antique dealer, he lived his entire life in the Stockport community. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Dean Burns of Stockport, Richard Dale Workman Jr. of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Dalene Johnson of Iowa City; four grandchildren and a brother, R.A. Workman of Stockport. Twin infant sisters preceded him in death.
