Suicide Near Libertyville

Fairfield, Sept. 3.—Will Copeland, wealthy retired farmer living seven miles southwest of Libertyville, blew off the top of his head with a two-barrel shotgun in the absence of his family yesterday afternoon. Copeland was 65 years old. Worry over health is given as the cause of his act. He had been ill for the past few years, and often had fits of despondency. His wife, his son Elmer, and daughter-in-law went to Fairfield in the afternoon. When they returned they found Copeland lying in a pool of blood in the woodshed. Mr. Copeland was well known in this vicinity. He leaves his widow, and three sons, Elmer, Guy and Roy.
