Charles Cleveland Conlee, 80, died Friday, Aug. 29 at the Shady Rest nursing home, Bonaparte.

He was born southeast of Fairfield, in Jefferson county, on Oct. 5, 1888, the son of George Perry and Mary A. Graves Conlee. He was married to Chloe Warner Hale of Milton on April 26, 1912; she died Oct. 5, 1937.

Mr. Conlee was a member of First Methodist church and the Masonic lodge, both of Milton.

Surviving are one son, Charles Hale Conlee of Milton; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Ritz of Fairfield, Mrs. Max Bechtel of West Burlington and Mrs. Gibson Strausbaugh of Burlington; 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday afternoon, Aug. 31 at two o'clock at First Christian church of Milton, with James D. McKean officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside cemetery. Wellborn Funera Home was in charge of arrangements.
