**Handwritten under heading: 25 Sept 1969Arthur S. Campbell, 82, a farmer, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22 at Sunnyslope Extended Care Center in Ottumwa.
He had entered St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa Aug. 6, and transferred to Sunnyslope Sept. 16.
He was born Oct. 17, 1886, near Birmingham, and had lived on the same farm in the Mount Zion community between Selma and Libertyville since boyhood. In 1916, he married Florence Ripley. She died in 1963. A son, Forrest, died in the Korean War.
Surviving are two sons, Maynard of Galesburg, Ill., and Murl of Des Moines; two daughters, Naomi Bigg of Ottumwa, and Ruth Shipler of Berkeley, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Manning of Fairfield.
The service will be held Friday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Larry Gilmore, pastor. Interment will be in the Batavia Cemetery. Pedrick Funeral Home at Douds is in charge of arrangements.
