Helen C. White, 94, of Bonaparte, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at River Hills Care Center in Keokuk.

Born Nov. 11, 1909, in Harrisburg Township, north of Bonaparte, she was the daughter of George B. and Lena Belle Rockefellow McComb. On Dec. 25, 1928, she married Rollo H. White in Bonaparte. He died May 24, 1992.

Mrs. White worked with her husband when he was manager of State Central Savings Bank in Bonaparte and in their own business, White Shopping Center in Bonaparte.

She grew up in Harrisburg Township and was a graduate of Bonaparte High School. She attended Harrisburg Baptist Church and was a past matron of Magnolia Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Bonaparte.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Joan Heminger of Bonaparte and Janet Pratt and Anita King, both of Keosauqua; 15 grandchildren; 39 great–grandchildren; 21 great–great–grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, one grandson and two great–great–grandsons.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. White will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harrisburg Baptist Church, north of Bonaparte, with the Rev. David Doerr officiating. Burial will be in Christy Cemetery, southwest of Farmington.

Memorials have been established for Bonaparte First Responders and Christy Cemetery.
