OBITUARY

Mrs. Ann Whitmore, whose death was noticed last week, and which occurred Aug. 15th, was 75 years, 10 months, and 18 days old, having been born in Pennsylvania, Oct. 2, 1806. When 7 years old her parents, John and Francis Zollers, moved to Ohio. She was married to Benjamine Whitmore in 1824. In 1840 they removed to Iowa, Wapello county; then in 1850 they removed to Van Buren county, where they have ever since resided. She was mother of 14 children; twelve attained maturity and nine survive to mourn her loss.

On the 19th of July, 1881, she received a fall from which she suffered great pain. she was for many years a member of the Bonaparte Baptist church, and led a consistant christian life. Her hope was strong and gave her much comfort until the last. Her last words to her pastor were, "That Saviour I have trusted so long will not forsake me now.
