RICHARD ARCH BELL

Richard Arch Bell, 54, of Keosauqua died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Mar. 16.

The son of William and Blanche King Bell, he was born June 20, 1915 at Bloomfield and in 1939 enlisted in the U.S. Navy for two years. On Feb. 3, 1945, he married Mary Ellen Scotton in Keosauqua. He was a member of the American Legion and the Sports Club and was employed at Philco-Ford in Fairfield.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, and a sister, Mrs. Nadine Blackwell of Bloomfield and a brother, Bud Bell of Danville, six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Millard Marshall, Congregational Church pastor, officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield.
