VELMA FLORENCE BONNETT

Velma Florence Wilson, eldest daughter of George C. and Florence Hearne Wilson, was born near Birmingham, Iowa, Oct. 6, 1901, and departed this life Sept. 4, 1951 at the age of 49 years, 10 months and 28 days.

Velma was united in marriage to Orville Bonnett on April 26, 1924. She is survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. Bonnie Berg of Chicago, Ill., and Pfc. George Bonnett, serving with the United States Air Forces in England. Two children, Virginia and Orville, Jr., preceded her in death.

Five grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: Fred Wilson of San Francisco, Calif., Lester Wilson of Fairfield, Iowa, John Wilson of Birmingham, Iowa and Mrs. Grace Stanton of Los Angeles, Calif.

She was a member of the Birmingham Methodist church and Women's Society of Christian Service and was active in thier work until her recent illness. Many friends and neighbors join with her family in mourning the passing of a loyal Christian and a devoted wife and mother.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Glen Lochhead and Rev. H. C. Irvine were held at the Birmingham Methodist church at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6. Music by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Williams. Pall bearers were Lester Lindsay, Mace Clarridge, Loren Lazenby, Lester Phillips, Ralph Shott and Clyde Dille. Burial in Maple Hill cemetery, Birmingham.
