Frank Hoover, 82, of Mt. Sterling rural route, died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, in Van Buren County Memorial hospital, Keosauqua, where he had been a patient for three days.
He was born August 8, 1890 at Brighton, Ia., the son of Thomas B. and Jennie Boltz Hoover. He was married to Anna Eleene Ward on May 25, 1918 at Fairfield. She was a resident of Richland. He was a retired farmer and railroad employee. He had lived in the Bonaparte area for 40 years.
He was a member of the United Methodist church in Bonaparte, the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a veteran of W.W. I.
He is survived by three sons, Dale of Mt. Sterling, Roy K. of Keswick and Russell W. of Cedar Rapids, one daughter, Mrs. Gayle (Rosalind) Hornbaker of Excelsior, Minn., 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one grandson and three brothers.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church. Interment was in Thompson Cemetery. The Rev. Edward Maus officated. Miller-hofbauer Funeral Home had carge of the service.
