Clarence William Fisher, 77, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 1:45 p.m. at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, following an illness of several months.
The son of Charles and Phoebe Fisher, he was born September 2, 1887, in Van Buren County, where he lived all of his life. He was married April 24, 1919, to Goldie Strait, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mavis Stookesberry and Mrs. Mary Louise Short, both of Milton, and Mrs. Ardis Barker of Burlington; a son, Lloyd Fisher of Pulski; 12 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Helen Moore of Milton.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church, the American Legion, and was a veteran of World War I.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Milton Methodist church, with the Rev. Richard Eis officiating, assisted by Rev. Lowell Paulson of the Christian church. Burial was in the Lebanon Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Lawrence Fisher, Craig Price, Charles Fisher, Melvin Sandy, William Strait and Gene Turner. Honorary bearers was the American Legion.
