ir county, Mo., April 5, 1878.
e came with her parents to Van
ren county, Iowa, in the fall of
81. The father died the following
ring, and the widowed mother with
r children moved to Bonaparte, Ia.,
ere Bertha grew to womanhood.
e was converted at the age of 16
ars, and united with the Methodist

She graduated from the Bona

ught for a number of years in the

She moved to Birmingham, Iowa,
1907, where she taught in the high
hool for ten years.
She was married to John A. Rail
ay 23, 1918. They moved immed-
tely to a farm near Milton, Iowa.

She had been a constant sufferer
om asthma for over five years.

She leaves to mourn their loss her
sband, one son, Robert, who is in
e Navy, one daughter, Mrs. Helen

niece, one nephew, and a host of
her relatives and friends. Her
other, who made her home with
ertha, passed away about 15 years
go.
Funeral services were held in the
