Mrs. V. B. Hill

Mrs. Belle S. (Swallow) Hill, wife of V. B. Hill, departed this life on May 21, 1910. She was born in Monroe county, Ohio, September 11, 1850. She was married to V. B. Hill January 21, 1875; and to this union was born six children, two boys and four girls, five of whom survive her. Miss Nona B. Hill having been called to await her mother's coming. The living children are: -- Ernest, and Mrs. Zoe Lafaver of Green City, Mo., and Will, Ethel and Bessie of Bonaparte.

The subject of our sketch has always been a kind and loving wife and a good mother. One of her greatest objects in life was to make life pleasant for her children, and to spread sunshine among her neighbors. She always had something kind to say about her neighbors and acquaintances. This fact alone made her very popular. Her loss is mourned by her family and relatives and by all whom she had ever formed an acquaintance. We extend our hand in sympathy to the bereaved children and parent and trust that they may so live that they will be an undivided family in a better world than this.

She became a member of the Mt. Olive Presbyterian church near Green City, Mo., in 1891 and remained faithful to that faith until her death. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Olive church conducted by her former pastor Rev. Smith.
