Stanley Lynn Davidson, age 61, 11161 Hickory Ave., Birmingham passed away at 3:34 A.M. Friday, April 28, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Born May 28, 1944 in Fairfield, he was the son of Emmett Nathan & Hazel Margaret Countryman Davidson.
He was a lifetime resident of Birmingham, graduating from Birmingham High School in 1962.
Stanley married Linda Skaggs on Jun 2, 1962 in Birmingham.
He was a member of the “Lick Creek Boys” musical group formed in 1977. They performed at local celebrations, What Cheer, the Iowa State Fair, Midwest Old Threshers Reunion, at Osage Beach, Missouri Theater and went to Nashville to record their music on two different occasions..
His grandchildren were #1 in his life. He was interested in country music, enjoyed horses and was known for his great sense of humor.
Deceased family members include his parents and 1 grandson, Michael Countryman.
Surviving are his wife, 5 children: Holly Boyd of Keosauqua, Anita (Roger) Corry of Birmingham, Rusty (Judy) Davidson of Birmingham, Steve (Chris) Countryman of Libertyville, and Chuck (Kaci) Countryman of Stockport, 13 grandchildren: Jake & Lacy Boyd; Brianne and Cody Corry; Brittany, Brooke, Grace, Chloe & Nathan Davidson; Matt, Jared, Megan and Brandon Countryman; his sister, Diane (Rex) Hall of Birmingham and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham with Reverend John Harrell officiating.
Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.
A memorial has been established in Stanley’s name to the Iowa City Heart Center.
Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.
