Coleman rites at Keosauqua

MOUNT STERLING --- Iva E. Coleman, 82, rural Mount Sterling, died at 7:47 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 1988, at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials to the Van Buren County Foundation may be left at the funeral home.

Mrs. Coleman was born July 7, 1905, in Henry County, the daughter of Hubert and Sarah Lee Young. A homemaker, she lived in Henry County until moving to a farm west of Mount Sterling in 1936. She was a member of the Libertyville United Methodist Church. She married Stephen E. Coleman Nov. 11, 1924 at Mount Pleasant. He died in 1986.

Surviving are four sons, Kenneth of Bonaparte, Eugene of Birmingham, Gary of Fairfield, Marvin of Dakota City, Neb.; two daughters, Mary E. Harward of Fairfield, Darla Cassady of Cantril; 31 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and a sister, Louva Deutsch of Fairfield, five sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
