MRS. R. L. WILSON

Mary Lenore, daughter of David and Rebecca (Aten) McMillen, was born at DeWitt, Mo., Oct. 22, 1873, and passed away at the Monmouth, Ill., hospital Tuesday evening, Feb, 19, 1942, aged 68 years, 3 months and 18 days, following a long illness.

She was married to Rev. R. L. Wilson, United Presbyterian pastor, April 30, 1903, and they were the parents of four children, Rev, R. Alvin Wilson, a Presbyterian missionary in India, Rev. John M. Wilson, pastor in St. James, Minn., Lincoln Wilson of Stonington, Ill. and Katherine Wilson at home in Monmouth. All of whom survive with five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Grace Nelson of Birmingham, and one brother, Edward P. McMillen of Avalon, Catalina Island, CA.

Her early life was spent in Birmingham and was graduated fro Birmingham high school with the class of 1891.

In 1896 she was graduated from the Illinois Training School for Nurses in Chicago, and for ten years preceding her marriage she practiced her profession, for which she was admirably fitted, as well as the wife of a minister, for thirty-nine years, until she became afflicted with Parkinson’s disease twelve years ago. The direct cause of her death was a fractured hip, but the dread disease had so undermined her health that she did not have the resistance to overcome the shock.

The funeral services were held in Monmouth, Ill., Tuesday afternoon Feb. 12, 1942. Burial in Monmouth cemetery.
