DR. LOUIS P. LATIMER

Dr. Louis P. "Doc" Latimer, 62, of RD 1, Box 118, Carbondale and Lake Havasu City, Arizona died Sunday March 7, 1999 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix, after an illness. His widow is the former Beverly Hughes, former Keosauqua resident, the daughter of Marie and the late Rupert Hughes, formerly of Keosauqua.

Born in Kingston, son of the late William Percy and Elizabeth Stuart Latimer, he was a member of Clifford United Methodist Church and was educated at Kingston High School, Loyala University and the National College of Chiropractic. He spent 37 years years (err) in the chiropractic professional and was named Pennsylvania Chiropractor of the Year in 1973. He was a member and past president of the Pennsylvania Board of Chiropractors and was Regional Director of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Board.

The past 10 years he had been a member of the National Board of Chiropractor Examiners and president of the board at the time of his death. His affiliations were with the Herman Masonic Lodger, the Irem Temple Shrine, Lake Havasu Elks Club, the Lake Havasu Golf Club and the Elk View Country Club, Crystal Lake.

He fought a courageous battle against cancer. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and an inspiration to everyone he knew. He taught us how to live and showed us how to die. He will be sadly missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa Moody, Phoenix; two sons, Dr. Gary Latimer, Crystal Lake and Stuart Latimer, Palmyra; four sisters, Delores Williams, Bethlehem; Jean Alder, Plantation, Florida; Romaine Kunkle, Dallas; and Carolyn Baglievo, Duryea; eight grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Saturday, March 13, 1999 at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home, 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with the Rev. Fred Thomas and the Rev. Lynda Bryan of the Clifford United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
