MRS. UNKRICH TAKES LIFE

Services to be held Friday afternoon at Birmingham

Mrs. Clifford Unkrich, 33, was found dead at her home one and one-half miles north of Fairfield Monday at 3 p.m. Mrs. Unkrich had lived in that community about two years, her residence previous to that time being in and near Birmingham.

She had left a note explaining that she was despondent over ill health. Her body was found by her son, in a shed where she had hung herself with a rope from a rafter.

Mrs. Unkrich is survived by her husband Clifford, and a son, Chris; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Baldwin of Birmingham, and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Kessel, of Boise, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Birmingham with the Rev. F. M. James of Keosauqua in charge. Interment will be in the Maple Hill cemetery at Birmingham. The body was taken to the Weston Behner Funeral Home.

Velma Bernice Unkrich

Velma Bernice Baldwin, the second child of Garfield and Mayme Baldwin, was born March 30, 1906, near Birmingham in Van Buren county. All of her life was spent around Birmingham, except for the last two years which were spent near Fairfield. She passed away Monday, May 29, at her home at the age of 33 years, 1 month and 29 days.

She was married to Clifford E. Unkrich May 2, 1926, and to them was born one son, Chris. Besides her husband and son, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Baldwin, a sister, Mrs. Lucille Kessel of Boise, Idaho, sister-in-law Margaret Baldwin and son Deane Gerald of Little Rock, Ark. Also a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Deane, April 14.

At an early age she united with the Bethel church. Bernice was a loving wife, devoted mother and a friend to everyone.

She graduated from Birmingham high school with the class of 1923. While attending Parsons college she lived at Crum, which was her home for several years.

She had been in ailing health for the last two months. Her death came ____?____ided shock to everyone.
