Mrs. Frank Throop Dies In Lincoln

Former Iowan Wife of Star Publisher

Lincoln, Neb.---Mrs. Frank D. Throop, wife of the publisher of The Lincoln Star, died at her home here Thursday night after an illness of about a year and a half.

She was the former Mabel Leverich of Muscatine, daughter of R. W. Leverich. She was born in Muscatine July 2, 1879, and was graduated from Muscatine normal school. She and Mr. Throop were married in Muscatine June 21, 1905. They lived there until 1915, when they moved to Davenport. In 1930, she moved with her husband to Lincoln.

Mrs. Throop immediately became active in civic and church affairs. Among other activities, she was founder of the Maternal Health league here and a member of its board.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. O. V. Calhoun and Mrs. Patrick McDonald of Lincoln, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Mathews Episcopal church here at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Throop is vice president of the Lee syndicate of newspapers of which the Ottumwa Courier is a member.
