MRS. CLARA C. YOUNG

Mrs. Clara Cartwright Young, widow of J. W. Young, died Jan. 31, 1942, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vivian Schrandt in Des Moines, following a long illness. She was born in Henry county, Iowa, and was 70 years of age. She taught school a number of years before her marriage to J. W. Young, who died in September 1924. The family lived in Birmingham for a number of years, he being cashier of the Birmingham Savings Bank. They moved from here to Des Moines 27 years ago. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Gilchrist of Beaver, Penn., Mrs. Florence Trent and Mrs. Vivian Schrandt of Des Moines, and two sons, Wesley and William, both of Des Moines, two sisters and ten grandchildren. Funeral services and burial were in Des Moines.
