Neal E. Jacobs services Sunday

BIRNINGHAM---Neal E. Jacobs, 81, former Washington resident and most recently of Birmingham, died Wednesday, Jan, 1, 1986, at Jefferson County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Hal Geiger will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung Association or the Birmingham Library.

Mr. Jacobs was born July 13, 1904 in Washington County, the son of Mark and Nettie E. (Baker) Jacobs. He married Iva Belle Davidson June 4, 1934, in Macomb, Ill.

He had been a resident of Birmingham since 1939. He worked as a feed grinder and at the Eclipse Lumber Company in Fairfield until his retirement. He was a 31-year member of the Iowa National Guard 119th armored division in Washington.

He is survived by his wife, Iva of Birmingham; one daughter, Sheila Jo Wicker of Norfolk, Va.; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Ethel Bright of Rubio and Louisa Bell of Mt. Pleasant.
