Funeral for Mt. Zion Man Will be Held Wednesday;
Leaves 5 Children

John E. Nelson, well-known Van Buren county resident, died at his home east of Mt. Zion at 6:15 o’clock Monday evening. Mr. Nelson was an elder of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church, had served several times on the board of directors of the Van Buren County Fair association and was an inspector for the production credit corporation.

Mr. Nelson was born on the Nelson homestead, 2 ˝ miles east of Mt. Zion, on May 19, 1878. He was married in 1905 to Miss Grace Barker, who died in 1933.

He is survived by five children, Jean, Paul and Roberta; two grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. J. F. Murphy of Vinita, Okla., Mrs. L. J. Perkins of Lewiston, Idaho, Mrs. O. S. Calhoun of Birmingham and Mrs. Todd Hootman of San Diego, Calif. His parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church. The Rev. H. C. Irvine will the in charge and burial will be in Miller Chapel cemetery.

Note: The two children that were omitted were “Merle and John.”
