Died
Rippon:
At her home on Vernon Prairie, Thursday, February 1, 1883 of inflamation of the lungs, Sarah, wife of John Rippon, in the 61 year of her age.

Mrs. Rippon was born at Borrowdon, Northumberland, England, Feb. 10, 1822, her maiden name being Sarah Turnbull. She was married at Morpheth, England to John Rippon, emigrated to the United States in 1856, and located in Chigago, where her husband was employed as a railroad machinist. The family afterwards removed to Keokuk, Iowa where the deceased had many warm friends by her kind, neighborly disposition. Eleven years ago they removed to the farm they now occupy, and where the last years of her life were spent.

Her illness was only of a week's duration.

The deceased was highly respected by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance as we evinced (sic) by the large number of mourning friends who followed her remains to their last resting place in the Bonaparte cemetery. She leaves a fond husband, son and daughter to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and affectionate mother.
