Vinson Gordon Crenshaw, 72 of Paola, Kan., and formerly of Douds, died at 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Paola Medical Lodge.
Graveside service is at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Leando Cemetery in Douds, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. American Legion John Hyson Reneker Post No. 494 of Douds will perform military rites.
Memorials to the family may be brought to the service or mailed to Melvin Crenshaw, 5812 S. Seventh Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85041-4802.
Mr. Crenshaw was born Dec. 22, 1939, in rural Douds, the son of Ivan H. and Anna Belle Hollander Crenshaw.
He grew up in the Douds community and graduated from Douds High School in 1957.
He served in the U.S. Army in Europe, 1959-62, was an apartment maintenance manager and worked for Boeing Aircraft Co., in Wichita, Kan.
Survivors include one daughter, Mona Grover of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandsons; two sisters, Antoinette Knecht of Corning and Waverly Hoskin of Keosauqua; and one brother, Melvin Crenshaw of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
