OBITUARY
Leander Clay Isenhour was born August 24, 1871, near Milton, Iowa and died August 19, 1928. He lived most of his life in and near Milton, his father having died when he was a small boy, he helped to make a home for his widowed mother until about three years ago when she to passed to the better land. A half-sister, Vallie Price, also preceded him in death.
For the past thee years he has lived alone in the old home, and during his last sickness was tenderly cared for by his brother, J. M. Isenhour, and a sister, Mrs. Verna Sigler.
He leaves to mourn his loss, one brother, J. M. Isenhour of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Verna Seigler of Ranger, Texas; a half-sister, Mrs. Edna Grant of Scepter, Canada, who visited him in his last sickness; a nephew, Carroll Fullerton of Huron, South Dakota, who was reared in the home; five nieces, Mrs. Rilla Kennedy of Dallas, Texas, Frances, Loraine, Genevieve and Dorothy Grant and a nephew Clarence Grant of Scepter, Canada, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Elder P. D. Holloway in the Christian church. Miss Lucille Leaverton, Mrs. M. E. Atkins, Paul Leaverton and D. A. Miller sang beautifully in keeping with the occasion. The body was laid to rest in the Cantril cemetery beside his mother and sister.
Note: Verna is listed as “Sigler” and “Seigler”.
