Mrs. Floy A. Clark, 85, died in her sleep at her home in Hillsboro, Friday night, March 9th.
She was born on December 8, 1893, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Joshua and Ella Campbell Helterbran. She married Alvah W. Clark on September 2, 1914, at Hillsboro, he died on August 15, 1952.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the Hillsboro Baptist Church and the RNA, American Legion Auxiliary and the Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Guy, of Collinsville, Illinois; a daughter, Mrs. William (Ruth) Whitaker of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Mrs. Michael (Linda) Atwood of Stanton, Illinois; Clark, John, Bruce and Susan Whitaker of Hillsboro. also two great grandchildren: Michelle and Kyle Atwood of Stanton, Illinois.
Funeral services were held at the Hillsboro Baptist Church on Monday, March 12 at 3 p.m. Rev. Lester H. Smith officiated, assisted by Rev. Levi Winfrey of Sheffield, Iowa. Interment was in the Hillsboro cemetery, with Weston Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, in charge. Pallbearers were Donald Shelman, Verl Shelman, Forrest Fuhrer, Dale Boley, Glenn Helterbran and Phil Hixson.
A memorial has been established to the Hillsboro Baptist Church.
