Mrs. William Davis
Jane Elizabeth Vincent, daughter of Samuel D. and Elizabeth Vincent was born in Upshire[sic] county, W. Va., Dec. 31, 1852, and passed away at the home of her son in Cantril, Iowa, October 27, 1936, aged 83 years, 10 months and 27 days.
When the deceased was a little girl she and her parents moved from West Virginia to Illinois thence to Missouri and Iowa, and settled in Van Buren County, Iowa where she has since resided.
On November 16, 1875, she was united in marriage to William Davis, who preceded her in death, September 8, 1933.
She leaves one son, Jesse and one grandson, Carroll, who also reside in Cantril, one sister Mrs. Zeph Trevorrow of Denver, Colo.
She made a christian profession during the pastorate of Rev. Lloyd Tennant, at Lebanon, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at the Disciple’s church in Cantril, October 29, at 2:00 with Rev. Lloyd Tennant preaching the sermon and Rev. Hadley assisting in the obsequies. The music was brought by a select quartet consisting of Ben Casady, John VanFleet, Geneca Jones, Nola Auspurger with Mrs. Tom Wellborn at the piano.
