GEORGE REGUR

George Lockwood Regur, 74, died at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1970. He had been a patient there since Saturday.

The son of George Washington and Carrie McDowell Regur, he was born on a farm south of Keosauqua January 30, 1896. On March 28, 1917 he married Faye Higdon near Keosauqua.

He was engaged in farming south of Keosauqua for 47 years before he retired in 1966 and moved to Keosauqua. He had been a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church since childhood and was a member of the Keosauqua Masonic Lodge.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Leonard of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Gary Muir of Keosauqua; a brother, Hal Regur of Frederickstown, Mo.; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

A memorial fund for Mr. Regur has been established at the Keosauqua Christian Church. Services will be held today, Thursday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua Christian Church with Rev. Howard McPeak officiating. Interment will be in Fellows Cemetery.
