Jay D. Sherman

Jay D. Sherman, 64, Fairfield, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, at the Fairfield Convalescent Home. He had been in serious condition three months.

Born Sept. 2, 1905, at Keosauqua, he was the son of Archie and Mamie Pearson Sherman. He had lived most of his life in Jefferson County.

He is survived by two brothers, Ralph of Stronghurst, Ill., and Phillip of Pulaski; and four sisters, Lena Walker of Bloomfield, Dorothy Norton of Mount Pleasant, Nellie Diers and Virginia Mason, both of Macomb, Ill.

The service was held Saturday, June 6, at Weston Behner Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Donald Hickman. Burial was in Batavia Cemetery.
