MAUD BUCKNER
Maud St. Leon Buckner, daughter of John and Henrietta Buckner, was born in Keosauqua, Oct. 6th, 1887, and passed away at the Ottumwa hospital Sunday evening, July 28, 1929, aged 41 years, nine months and 24 days.
She grew to womanhood in Keosauqua and while living in Keokuk she was converted and united with the African Methodist Church of that place.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her mother, Mrs. John Buckner, two sisters, Rosa and Irene, and four brothers, Clyde of Chicago, Edward of Davenport, Dan and Biviard at home, also one niece, Geraldine Folson of Des Moines and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the White Methodist Church in Keosauqua, and the funeral was preached by Rev. M. D. Cox at 2 o’clock Wednesday. Burial in Purdom Cemetery.
