DOUDS --- Clarence W. Wiley, 88, died unexpectedly at 10:30 a.m. Friday at his farm home near Douds.
The son of George W. and Mary Catherine Miller Wiley, he was born Nov. 23, 1894 at Fairfield. He lived on the same farm south of Douds for 79 years.
On Nov. 24, 1914, Wiley married Ruth Humphrey at Lebanon. She died in 1971.
Surviving are three daughters: Mary Catherine Kann and Rachel Kemp, both of Fairfield; Jo Ann Wiley, at home; two sisters: Hazel Harward, Sigourney; Evelyn Parks, Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Wiley was a member of the Christian United Methodist, a 50-yesr member of Starlight Lodge No. 350 K of P, a member of the Douds Community Club and director of the Leando Cemetery Association.
Services for Wiley will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Gerald Caughron and Dr. Chris Daniel officiating. Visitation will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home; burial will be in Leando Cemetery in Douds.
